As a sufferer of PTSD, I take content warnings seriously. As a writer, I take spoilers seriously. Here’s an attempt at a happy medium.

Silent isn’t a light story. It goes into some heavy themes, though it is also quite unbearably sweet and comedic at times. There’s a spectrum. I’m not writing misery for misery’s sake.

Broad content warnings: Abuse (child; spousal; emotional; physical; sexual), racism, misogyny, transphobia, homophobia, colonialism & genocide (including references to real world cases and re-education institutes), paedophilia, and a lot of general talk about war. The reactions you can anticipate from people living under these conditions are there too. I’m not playing with these themes, I’m exploring their impact.
